Do I need a visa?
For tourist stays of up to 90 days, citizens of Spain, the European Union, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Australia and many other countries do not need a visa. A passport is enough to enter. If your nationality isn't on the exempt list, it's best to check with the Moroccan consulate before travelling.
The passport
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date you enter the country. On arrival they'll stamp your entry and you'll fill in a short form; keep the stamp, as you'll need it on the way out.
What about a national ID card?
It won't do: to enter Morocco you always need a passport, even if you're travelling from Spain.
Vaccines and health
There are no compulsory vaccines to enter Morocco from Europe or the Americas. It's recommended to be up to date with the usual vaccinations. Drink bottled water and get travel insurance with medical cover — it's not compulsory, but it's highly advisable.
Customs and other details
- Taking dirhams in or out in large amounts is prohibited (it's a closed currency).
- Drones are usually held at customs; avoid bringing one without a permit.
- Keep your entry form to present it on departure.
