7 Days Desert and Imperial Cities

With this itinerary, we invite you to discover the Historical Heritage of all Morocco, visiting some of the country’s most important cities, as well as the most relevant natural spaces that will move your souls.

Itinerary:

Day 1: ARRIVAL IN MARRAKECH

At the agreed time, we will pick you up at the airport and transfer you to the hotel in Marrakech. Depending on the arrival time, you will have time for a first contact with the city. Accommodation in Marrakech.

Day 2: MARRAKECH – AIT BEN HADDOU – OUARZAZATE – DADES VALLEY

After breakfast, we will start the desert tour. We will cross the High Atlas Mountains through the highest pass in the country, Tizi n’Tichka (2,260m altitude), passing through interesting villages until we reach the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou (UNESCO World Heritage Site), a fortified complex that has been the setting for famous movies. We will continue through Ouarzazate, the Road of the Thousand Kasbahs to Skoura, and cross the Rose Valley to finally arrive at the Dades Valley. Dinner and accommodation in a hotel located in the Dades Gorges.

Day 3: DADES VALLEY – TODRA GORGES – MERZOUGA DESERT

After breakfast, we will continue through Berber villages until we reach the Todra Gorges, where you can enjoy this impressive place. Then we will head to the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi in Merzouga. Upon arrival, you will start a camel excursion to the Berber camp in the heart of the desert, where you will enjoy a traditional dinner and spend the night in Berber tents under the stars.

Day 4: MERZOUGA DESERT – FEZ

Wake up early to watch the sunrise over the dunes, then we will have breakfast and say goodbye to the desert. We will continue north through the Ziz Valley, with a stop in Midelt for lunch. Then we will continue to Fez, passing through the towns of Ifrane and Azrou, crossing the cedar forest. Arrival in Fez and accommodation.

Day 5: VISIT TO FEZ

After breakfast, we will start the visit of Fez, the oldest imperial city and spiritual center of the country. We will enjoy a panoramic view of the city from one of the surrounding hills, visit the Royal Palace, and explore the medina with its narrow streets, medersas, and craft workshops. Accommodation in Fez.

Day 6: FEZ – CASABLANCA – MARRAKECH

After breakfast, we will head to Casablanca to visit the Hassan II Mosque, an impressive architectural work facing the Atlantic Ocean. In the afternoon, we will continue our journey to Marrakech, arriving around 19:00. Accommodation in Marrakech.

Day 7: VISIT TO MARRAKECH – TRANSFER TO THE AIRPORT

After breakfast, we will have a guided tour of Marrakech, visiting places like the Koutoubia, the Saadian Tombs, and the Bahia Palace. After the visit, we will transfer you to Marrakech airport for your departure flight. (We recommend you to be at the airport at least 2 hours before departure).

NOTE: This itinerary can be extended with an extra day to spend two nights in the desert and do more activities. Different hotel options and categories, as well as group or private trips, can be quoted.
