7 Days Marrakech to Tangier

With this itinerary, we invite you to discover the Historical Heritage of all Morocco, visiting some of the country’s most important cities, as well as the most relevant natural spaces that will move your souls.

Itinerary:

Day 1: TRANSFER TO MARRAKECH HOTEL

At the agreed time, we will pick you up at the airport and transfer you to the hotel. Depending on the arrival time, you will have the opportunity to have a first contact with the city. Accommodation at the Marrakech hotel.

Day 2: VISIT MARRAKECH

After breakfast, we will have a guided tour of Marrakech: Starting with the Koutoubia Minaret (S: XIII), sister to Seville’s Giralda, of splendid harmony, it is currently the beacon and spiritual center of Marrakech. Then, we will visit the Saadian Tombs (S: XVI), highlighting its central vault made of Carrara marble. Subsequently, we will visit the Bahia Palace (S: XVI), an example of aristocratic life in Muslim medieval times, featuring its ambassador’s hall with a cedar wood ceiling. Then, we will head on foot to the “Jemaa el-F’naa Square”, declared a World Heritage Site (the visit starts around 09:00 and ends at 13:00). Afternoon at leisure. Accommodation at the Marrakech hotel.

Day 3: MARRAKECH – HIGH ATLAS – AIT BEN HADDOU – OUARZAZATE – DADES VALLEY

After breakfast, we will begin the desert tour. You will cross the High Atlas Mountains, through the country’s highest pass, Tizi n’Tichka (2,260m altitude). Then, you will pass through interesting villages until you reach the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou (declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987), a fortified complex within a walled town that you’ll surely recognize as it has been the setting for many famous movies. Continuing our route, we’ll pass through Ouarzazate, then take the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs towards Skoura. From there, we’ll cross the Valley of Roses to finally arrive at the Dades Valley. Dinner and accommodation at a hotel located in the Dades Gorges.

Day 4: DADES VALLEY – TODRA GORGES – MERZOUGA DESERT

The next day, after breakfast, you’ll continue the route passing through many Berber villages. You’ll visit the Todra Gorges with the possibility of having lunch there to enjoy the impressive place peacefully. Once the visit is over, you’ll head straight to the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi, where you’ll start the camel excursion, making a stop to see the sunset until you reach the heart of the desert. Upon arrival, an excellent and refreshing tea awaits you, along with an exquisite Berber dinner, all accompanied by the music of the tam-tam (drums). You’ll enjoy a unique and unforgettable night under the star-filled desert sky, sleeping in Berber tents.

Day 5: MERZOUGA DESERT – MIDELT – FEZ

You’re already in the desert, enjoying the magic of the dunes… Today, it’s essential to wake up early to see the sunrise from the top of the dunes. After breakfast, we’ll bid farewell to the desert. We’ll head north through the Ziz Valley, taking advantage of the coolness of the blue spring of Meski where you can rest. We’ll have a planned stop in Midelt for lunch and then continue to Fez, passing through the towns of Ifrane and Azrou. During the journey, we’ll cross the cedar forest, with ancient cedars, and you’ll also have the chance to see the Barbary macaques or Gibraltar monkeys. Accommodation in Fez.

Day 6: VISIT FEZ – CHAOUEN

The morning is reserved for visiting Fez, the oldest imperial city in Morocco. We will visit the Medina of Fez el-Bali, one of the largest medieval sites preserved in the world, declared a World Heritage Site over 30 years ago. After the Medina, we will go to the Karawiyin Mosque, belonging to the Karawiyin University, the oldest in history, founded in the year 880. Accommodation in Fez.

In the afternoon, after the visit to Fez, you will continue the journey to Chefchaouen (known as the blue city). Accommodation in Chefchaouen.

Day 7: CHAOUEN – TANGIER

After breakfast, we will visit Chefchaouen, a holy city perched on the mountain, located within a biosphere reserve. Its streets painted in white and blue, a village of wise, kind, and respectful people, offer the visitor beautiful urban panoramas, lovely examples of local craftsmanship, and a peace and serenity that is difficult to find today.

At the agreed time, we will depart for Tangier. Transfer to the destination point and end of our services.

Note: An extra day can be added to this itinerary to spend two nights in the desert for an experience of meeting the nomads who live in the desert and to do more activities. The package can be quoted in different options, hotel categories from standard to luxury, group travel with more people, or private.
